Kukup is a fishing village on the west coast of Johor. Most of the village is built over the water on wooden and concrete stilts, with long rambling concrete paths snaking through the buildings. Almost every household has a boat that is used for transportation. Offshore floating fisheries dot the coastline of Kukup. Recently, Kukup has seen an upsurge of their tourist industries, and it’s landscape has evolved accordingly.
